Student Advisor Mark HopkinsMy name is Mark Hopkins, and I am a student advisor for Berkleemusic. I was lucky enough to get a chance to chat with my favorite guitarist, Wayne Krantz, while he was in town playing the Regatta Bar.

We talked about his experience as a Berklee student, the importance of music fundamentals and his approach to composition. It was quite an honor to pick Wayne’s brain and if you are a fan of music, like I am, you have to see this interview.

    Nice interview Mark.

I checked out your music and really enjoyed your songwriting style.

I can picture Jaime Cullum singing and playing your songs. Got that same kind of vibe as him.

    Thanks. Fascinating.

Thanks for featuring Wayne in that clip. He’s an awesome player who I had the great fortune of seeing in a totally solo context a few years ago at the Montreal International Jazz Festival. Wayne is one of this harmonic/melodic/rhythmic visionaries who definitely deserves more press and support. Thanks again and I look forward to learning more about your online Jazz Guitar Certificate. Take care and all the best.
